About Sanders ... A life in photography
The Gallery at Sanders Studio is about collecting, conservation, selling, printing, shooting, and discussing the art of black and white photography. If it is Black and White we want to know about it.
Sanders' father, Owen Kent Sanders was attending Art Center College of Design when young Sanders first put his nose against the darkroom counter laden with trays and chemicals. Sanders built his first darkroom out of cardboard boxes at the age of seven. This badly faded image of his dog Sam is the earliest image he still has that he printed in 1960 in his cardboard box darkroom and it has been photography from then on.
